Saba Bali Villas Are All Uniquely Named!

January 25, 2010

Balinese Charm -Saba Bali VillasThe Charm and spiritual beliefs of the Balinese people are intrinsic factors that make a stay in Bali such a wonderful experience.

In the city and villages, Balinese spirituality is reflected in the many structures, buildings and roads that are named after major characters in Balinese Hindu beliefs.

At Saba Bali Villas, this rich naming tradition continues with each of the villas that make up Saba having a uniquely Balinese name.
The five villas at SABA are named after the ‘Panca Pendawa’ family of five ‘wayang’ or shadow puppet characters. Shadow puppetry is the most prominent theatrical expression in Bali. In a wayang kulit performance, flat cut-out figures are silhouetted against a translucent, white screen, with a coconut-husk lamp as its source of light. The wayang figures are manipulated with rods by the puppeteer or dalang, who tells the story in Balinese, accompanied by a gamelan orchestra.

The five Pendawas are brothers, Yudistira, Bima, Arjuna, and their half-brothers, Nakula and Sahadewa.

The oldest of the Pendawas is Yudistira. Renowned for his patience and referred to as having ‘white blood’, he would never fight or go to war. He wears a powerful amulet named ‘Kalimasada’.

Bali GodsThe second is Bima, He represents the power of the five Pendawas, with his large strong body and sharp thumbnails, and he never addresses anyone in formal language.

The third Pendawa is the handsome warrior, Arjuna. Also powerful, he practices meditation, owns powerful weapons and is a skilled archer.

The fourth and fifth Pendawas are Nakula and Sahadewa. Always loyal to their stepbrothers, these two warriors also have supernatural powers.

You will find streets named after these five characters in Seminyak and Kuta as are many Bali Villa residences

This place looks amazing. Bali is really close for a holiday place for Japanese people but what about the costs? Besides the cost of exclusive accommodation like these on this site, how much would it cost to eat out or get night time entertainment?
